Newark-area homes for sale rise to $285,000 median price

Three months ago, they sold their home and started to hunt for a new, larger one with character inside and out. It took them three months, almost 30 private visits and open houses, and four offers before they were able to land a home.

A typical Licking County home listed for $285,000 in April, up 6.5% from a month earlier, an analysis of data from Realtor.com shows.

The median list home price in April was down about 0.9% from April 2021. Licking County’s median home was 1,814 square feet for a listed price of $167 per square foot.

The Licking County market was busy, with a median 18 days on market. A month earlier, homes had a median 28 days on market. The market added 180 new home listings in April, compared with the 184 added in April 2021. The market ended the month with some 103 listings of homes for sale.
