OHIO WEATHER

? ‘Mean Girls’ Performances To Come + Championships At Jeffco

Good morning, friends! It’s me, Carla Varner, your host of the Daily. Let’s get this Monday started off right, with a quick review of the most important things going on around town.

First, today’s weather:

High clouds and breezy. High: 59 Low: 53.

Here are the top three stories in Lakewood today:

  1. “Mean Girls,” the Broadway show, is headed for the Schuster Center from May 31 to June 5! “My youngest sister is a senior in high school so ‘Mean Girls’ can hit close to home,” says Mary Beth Donahoe, who grew up in Lakewood, Ohio. She’s now a member of the touring company that will come to Dayton. Tickets are $29-$125. Call (937) 228-3630 or visit DaytonLive.org to purchase. (dayton.com)
  2. Though the postponement of the second day of the state track and field championships on Friday gave athletes plenty of time to freshen up physically for the remaining stages of the event at Jeffco Stadium, the overall crummy weather forced a tricky mental adjustment for all 2022 participants. However, all of the teams were able to compete on Saturday with only a slight delay to dry the running surfaces at Jeffco Stadium. (Loveland Reporter-Herald)
  3. Looking for a new home or investment opportunity in the Lakewood area? Patch, with help from Redfin, has compiled a list of the latest real estate listings to hit the area. Visit the link to discover pricing and specs on five Lakewood homes, including a 4 bed/1.5 bath single-family house for $260,000. (Patch)

  • After School Drop-In – Cove Community Center (3:00 PM)
  • Drop-In & Play Evenings – Cove Community Center (5:30 PM)
  • Committee Of The Whole Meeting – Lakewood City Hall (6:00 PM)

From my notebook:

  • Learn about the History of Photography: From Silver to Sensors on Wednesday, May 25 at 6:00 p.m. in the Main Library Auditorium. This program is open to patrons ages 10 and older. (Facebook)
  • Summer Reading fun has begun! Join the Lakewood Public Library to explore Oceans of Possibilities all summer long. Patrons of all ages can sign up at the Main Library, Madison Branch, or online. (Facebook)

Thanks for following along and staying informed. I’ll see you around!
