1) Cleveland’s Iconic Lolly The Trolley Soon To Disappear From City Streets Forever

Lolly the Trolley will roll on Cleveland’s streets no more. Next week, after 37 years of narrated city tours aboard the vibrant and beloved red trolleys, the eye-catching fleet will be retiring to Florida. In the days to come, many memories will be shared among Greater Clevelanders.

  • Sherill Witt and Peter Paul acquired their first trolley in April 1985 after years of walking tours, but several factors are forcing the duo to call it quits. The pandemic cut into their business, Witt told cleveland.com, while insurance and city regulations made it harder to operate.
  • About 2.5 million people have ridden Lolly the Trolley. The fleet of buses will be acquired by a company in Florida.
  • Said Witt: “We did the best we could for the city we love.”

Our friends at WKYC TV have aired several video stories of people reminiscing about their trolley tours. Watch WKYC’s Stepanie Haney interview a former driver and a couple who rode the trolley shortly after it opened.

Are you a Cleveland resident looking for an investment alternative to the stock market?

Bloomberg recently asked experts where they’d invest $100,000 right now, and many of them had the same answer: fine art.

Thinking you can’t afford a Picasso? Well in 2012, Congress passed the JOBS Act, which allowed for the securitization of artwork. A company called Masterworks.io built the largest platform for buying and selling art securities. In the past, you could only buy shares of companies like Apple, but with this investing app, you can unlock this powerful investment.

Meaning, you can invest in shares of million-dollar artwork. And in uncertain times, it turns out, fine art may be a wise investment. Here’s why:

  • Low correlation to stocks according to Citi
  • Contemporary art historically returns 23.2% when inflation is >3%
  • Contemporary art prices outpaced the S&P 500 by 164% (1995-2021)

He now is restricted by an emergency order of protection signed by a judge.

  • The fight between Rondo and his former partner was over her request that the boy separate laundry for the wash instead of playing video games with his father.
  • Rondo, a four-time all-star, was traded to the Cavs in 2021.
  • The NBA said it is aware of the allegations and is investigating. As of Monday evening, Rondo had not been charged with a crime.
