PEPPER PIKE, Ohio — The Orange High School Pit Orchestra from the school’s production of “All Shook Up” in April was recently nominated for Best Student Orchestra in the 2022 Playhouse Square Dazzle Awards.

Members of the orchestra include Trey Davis, Aidan Stearns, Daniel Pukanski, Lex Stearns, Ari Rubin, Leah Heasley, Sophia Stepanyan, Meghan Zuccaro, Sadie Meyer, Lily Apanius, Jesse Hodgson, Edward Fatica, Catherine Snyder-Lovera, Tessa Kemelhar, Benjamin Scheps, Michael Yard, Jack Arch, Logan Kaplan, Dalton Phillips, Gwendolyn Darrah, Samuel Dupont, Owen Lenson, Daniel Roberts and Bralyn Smith.

The orchestra is directed by Jake Robinson. Dalton Phillips, who plays keyboard, served as music director for the production.

The Dazzle Awards, presented by Pat and John Chapman, will be held May 21 at the Connor Palace at Playhouse Square in Cleveland.

The awards were created to inspire and honor excellence in high school musical theater and recognize the importance of musical theater and arts education within the Northeast Ohio community.

A panel of independent adjudicators attends one production at each participating school and provides educational feedback and scores to determine the nominees and awards in each category.

Orange High School has received multiple nominations since its first year participating in the Dazzle Awards program in 2017.
