? Dinosaur House For Sale + Will Baker Play? + Tax Abatement Hope

Beloved dinosaurs, unbeloved quarterbacks, and tax questions lead Tuesday’s news in Greater Cleveland. And if you like a wry and bitter laugh, the comic Marc Maron will be in town Friday.

Weather: ? Breezy in the a.m.; sunny. High: 71, Low: 56 | More info

Listed by Nicholas Reyes, of BHHS Stouffer Realty, Inc.

1) A Dinosaur, A Giraffe, And An Elephant Walk Into A Cleveland Realtor’s Office …

This “meticulously maintained colonial” home at 3553 Bosworth Road in Cleveland features beautiful flooring on the first floor, solid wood kitchen cabinets, granite countertops and a marble backsplash. Upstairs you will find oak hardwood floors throughout and marble in the full bathroom. Oh, and did we mention the dinosaur in the yard?

  • Harry Larweh listed his three-bedroom, three-bathroom house for $162,000 last week with Nicholas Reyes, of BHHS Stouffer Realty, Inc. The home boasts many improvements, but Larweh’s most visible handiwork is the giant dinosaur out front, along with giraffe and elephant sculptures.
  • “It just happened,” Larweh, an artist who’s lived in Cleveland for 12 years, told News 5 Cleveland WEWS. “I just got up and started doing it.” He says this was his “Covid project.”
  • Zillow tweeted Larweh’s listing, and his house quickly went viral.

2) Baker Mayfield Held Hostage, Day 54: A Cleveland Browns fan asks Mary Kay Cabot: “What are the chances Baker Mayfield starts for the Browns if Deshaun Watson isn’t available?” There’s been a lot of chatter about that unlikely possibility, surprisingly, because the Browns can’t move Mayfield. Browns expert Mary Kay pops that weird thought bubble though.

  • “I think some team will be smart enough to trade for Mayfield, who can still help a team and represents an upgrade over a handful of current starters in the NFL. But if for some reason Mayfield is still hanging around at the start of the season, he won’t start for Watson if he’s suspended,” she replies.

3) Tax Abatement Opportunity Zones: Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb and city council are embarking on an overhaul of the city’s tax break program for new and renovated housing. Now, in an effort to direct development toward struggling neighborhoods, Bibb is proposing to pare back new tax abatement offerings in the city’s hotter real estate markets.
