Moeller, Mason 1-2 in Ohio DI baseball with CHCA atop DIII
With OHSAA playoffs looming in the coming weeks, the first Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association poll of May has Moeller on top in Division I and Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy atop Division III.
Moeller had a big Greater Catholic League-South matchup with Elder Monday night at the University of Cincinnati, then will tangle with the Panthers again Wednesday at the Panther Athletic Complex. Friday the Division I leader will square off with Division III leader CHCA at Prasco Park.
Right behind 17-1 Moeller is 15-3 Mason who was set to meet Lakota East Monday night after snaring a 4-3 win over the Thunderhawks Friday. Lakota East is ranked No. 17. Also receiving votes from coaches in Division I was Elder, Middletown, Oak Hills and Talawanda.
Southwest Ohio’s top Division II team is 12-5 Badin. The Rams lead the GCL-Coed Division and are the only team thus far to have defeated Division III leader CHCA.
