OSU announces 4-H College Scholarship winners | News, Sports, Jobs


The Ohio State University Extension of Washington County is pleased to announce the winners of the annual 4-H College Scholarship Awards. Each applicant must be a high school senior or college freshman who have been a 4-H member for at least three years.

Funding for the scholarship awards was provided by the Washington County 4-H Endowment Committee through funds housed at Marietta Community Foundation.

Three winners receiving $500 scholarships are:

¯Amelia Huck, daughter of Rick and Beth Huck, is a member of the Running Wild 4-H Club. Amelia is a senior at Waterford High School and plans to major in Radiologic Technology at Rio Grande University.

¯Julia Hartline, daughter of Jeff and Kathryn Hartline, and a member of Backyard Gang and Carteens 4-H clubs. Julia attends Washington County Career Center and will graduate from Marietta High School this spring. In the fall, she plans to attend Kent State University at Salem majoring in Radiation Therapy.

¯Melina Matics, daughter of Jeff and Sloane Matics, is a member Oak Grove Explorers 4-H Club and will graduate this spring from Wood County Christian School. Melina plans to attend Washington State Community College toward a degree in Respiratory Therapy.

Four winners receiving $250 scholarships are:

¯Morgan Antill plans to attend either Kent State to major in Vet Tech or OSU/ATI to major in Business and will use the scholarship to pay for college expenses.

¯JaeLynn Bosner plans to use her scholarship funds to purchase a horse-riding helmet for use at college this fall.

¯Lilith Roberts plans to attend Ohio University this fall and will use the scholarship funds to help pay for her education.

¯Macie Smith plans to attend Wright State University to obtain a degree in psychology, using her scholarship funds to help pay for the higher education.
