Dog who’s spent more than 2 years at Ohio shelter gets adopted


A dog who’s spent more than two years at an Ohio animal shelter has been adopted and will be heading to her forever home.The Columbiana County Dog Pound posted on its Facebook page on April 4 to introduce Janice, a 9-year-old dog who had been living at the shelter for over two years.The shelter posted a picture of her inside her kennel, saying, sadly, it’s all she’s known for the past two years.”Time after time, she has watched her fellow pound dogs be adopted, yet she is passed over every time for one reason or another,” the shelter said.After a week of all of Janice’s meet and greets falling through, Janice was finally adopted by a family. The shelter said the dog’s adopters had been looking to add a dog to the family for some time now and when they saw Janice’s story on the news, they said, “That’s my dog!”They met Janice at the shelter last week and then came back to finalize everything.”These folks are so kind and so sweet. Janice absolutely LOOOOVES and adores them both,” the Columbiana County Dog Pound wrote on Facebook.
