Hot Findlay wins twice at Cedarville


CEDARVILLE, Ohio – Findlay retained its spot among the G-MAC leaders by taking a pair of contests from the host Lady Jackets.

The Oilers swept the twinbill by scores of 3-1 and 10-3 to extend their winning streak to eight in a row.

Cedarville was limited to three hits in the first games – singles by Faith Bergner, Casey Bertke, and Carrie Jespersen.

Mackenzie Russell drove in Jespersen on a sacrifice fly.

Bertke pitched seven innings and struck out a season-high nine batters.

Findlay flexed its muscle in the nightcap hammering 11 hits for extra bases and 14 total.

McKenna Smith went 3-for-3 with a walk, run scored, and RBI for the Jackets, 18-11 overall and 3-5 G-MAC.

Bertke doubled twice and Bergner added two hits with a run.
