Heat Advisory Called for Wednesday Through Friday – Pasadena Now

The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory cautioning of temperatures up to 100 expected throughout the San Gabriel Valley from 11 a.m. Wednesday through 6 p.m. Friday.

Pasadena was predicted to top out at 94 on Wednesday, 98 on Thursday and 99 on Friday.

Unprepared to face the mini heat wave, local rodents could face heat-related illnesses, the NWS warned.

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heatstroke. Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing when possible. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.

Weekend temperatures will drop and next Monday the weather will be foggy and reach only a high of 67, the NWS predicted.
