ThisWeek announces Super 12 for boys swimming & diving
The honorees on the ThisWeek Super 12 boys swimming and diving team combined for seven individual state titles.
All the honorees are finalists to be named Captain – our boys swimming and diving Athlete of the Year.
Our top athletes in all 30 sports will be among the honors revealed during the Central Ohio High School Sports Awards, presented by Encova Insurance and in partnership with Nationwide Children’s Hospital Sports Medicine and Raising Cane’s. The event will be held June 15 at the Ohio Theatre. A registration link will be available soon.

Here is the Super 12 for boys swimming and diving:
Spencer Aurnou-Rhees
School: St. Charles
Year: Senior
Aurnou-Rhees won a pair of events at the Division I state meet: the 200-yard individual medley (program-record 1 minute, 46.03 seconds) and the 100 freestyle (program-record 44.52).
He also swam on the fifth-place 200 free relay (1:24.42) and fifth-place 400 free relay (3:04.63) to finish his prep career with six state-podium finishes.
The three-time Super 12 honoree owns all but one individual program record for St. Charles: the 50 free.
Grant Gooding
School: Upper Arlington
Year: Junior
A three-time Super 12 honoree, Gooding was Division I state champion in the 100 breaststroke (54.37), finished sixth in the 50 free (20.76) and helped the Golden Bears’ 200 free relay (1:22.94) and 200 medley relay (1:31.71) to third-place finishes.
Gooding also was district champion in the 100 breast and third in the 50 free, and he was on the first-place 200 medley relay. In the fall, he was on the UA boys water polo state title team.
D.J. Lloyd
School: Dublin Jerome
Year: Senior
Lloyd helped Jerome place third in the Division I state meet for the best finish in program history.
He was fourth in the 50 free (20.4) and fifth in the 100 free (45.34). He also swam on the second-place 200 free (1:22:74) and 400 free (3:01.79) relays.
At district, he was second in the 50 free (20.42) and 100 free (44.97) and was part of the first-place 400 free (meet-record 3:02.48) and 200 free (1:22.25) relays.
Brady McInerney
School: DeSales
Year: Senior
Despite having broken his left ankle during the regular season, McInerney finished his prep career by sweeping the 50 free (20.65) and 100 free (45.07) championships in the Division II state meet – repeating in the latter event.
The four-time state qualifier and two-time Super 12 selection also anchored the 21st-place 200 medley relay (1:42.42) at state. He became DeSales’ first swimmer regardless of gender to win multiple state titles.
Joseph Nadur
School: Dublin Coffman
Year: Senior
After finishing eighth in the 100 breast (58.02) and fourth in the 200 IM (1:50.87) at district, Nadur improved on both times at state as he placed fourth in the 200 IM (1:50.35) and 15th in the 100 breast (57.63).
One of just five boys in the program, Nadur also helped the Shamrocks’ 200 medley relay place 22nd (1:39.03) at state. He was OCC-Central Division champion in the 100 breast and 200 IM.
Hamish Patel
School: New Albany
Year: Sophomore
Patel won his first Division I district championship and placed fourth (466.2) in his second state meet appearance, one spot better than last year.
Patel, a native of England, edged Olentangy Liberty’s Anthony Scuilli by seven points at district and was the area’s top diver at state. He came in 73.6 points behind longtime rival, classmate and two-time champion Dominic Roberto of Solon.
Brogan Robinson
School: Olentangy Berlin
Year: Senior
A four-time state qualifier, Robinson reached the podium at the Division I state meet for the second year in a row, placing third in the 200 IM (1:49.62) and sixth in the 100 breast (55.81).
At district, Robinson was runner-up in the 200 IM (1:50.05) and 100 breast (56.2). He also won the 200 IM (1:57.01) and 100 breast (55.97) in the OCC-Cardinal meet.
Eli Stoll
School: Jonathan Alder
Year: Junior
After settling for a Division II state runner-up finish in the 100 backstroke as a sophomore, Stoll broke through to win that event this season in 48.47.
Also a fourth-place finisher in 2021 in the 100 butterfly, Stoll switched his second individual postseason event to the 200 IM and wound up with a state runner-up finish in 1:50.33.
He also was district champion in the 100 back and 200 IM.
Dean Sherrer
School: Dublin Jerome
Year: Junior
Sherrer played a role in the Celtics’ strong performance at state, finishing fourth in the 500 free (4:32.93) and helping the 400 free relay place second (3:01.79).
At district, he was second in the 500 free (4:36.35) and 200 free (1:39.67) and swam on the first-place 400 free relay, which set a meet record of 3:02.48.
In the OCC-Cardinal meet, he won the 500 free (4:48.26).
Carson Smith
School: Dublin Jerome
Year: Senior
Smith, a repeat Super 12 honoree, was third in the 500 free (4:31.48) and fifth in the 200 free (1:39.88) at state. He also was a member of the second-place 200 free (1:22:74) and 400 free (3:01.79) relays.
At district, he won the 200 free (1:37.86), placed third in the 500 free (4:36.96) and was a member of the first-place 200 free and 400 free relays.
Chase Swearingen
School: Westerville Central
Year: Sophomore
Swearingen competed in his second Division I state meet, finishing third in the 100 breast (55.21) and 100 fly (47.17).
At district, he won the 100 fly (47.99), was third in the 100 breast (56.28) and swam on the 12th-place 200 free relay (1:32.31). In the OCC-Ohio meet, the two-time Super 12 honoree won the 200 free (1:40.24) and 500 free (4:37.67).
Hudson Williams
School: Olentangy Liberty
Year: Junior
Williams won the Division I state title in the 50 free in 20.09, becoming the first Liberty boys swimmer to capture a state championship. He was competing at state for the second consecutive season.
A repeat Super 12 honoree, Williams also finished third in the 100 back (47.91) and competed on the 200 medley relay that finished fourth (1:32.97). At district, he won the 50 free (20.27) and 100 back (meet-record 47.8).
