Offense Silenced as Baseball Drops Two at #3 Trevecca
NASHVILLE – The Ohio Dominican baseball team was held to just two runs on Saturday, dropping both halves of a road doubleheader at No. 6/3 Trevecca Nazarene.
Trevecca claimed the opener 7-1, before taking the nightcap by a final count of 10-1.
GAME ONE
The Panthers (6-11, 1-5 G-MAC) collected four of their five hits through the first four frames, but left five runners stranded. Trevecca (18-3, 5-1 G-MAC) tagged ODU for two home runs and led 3-0 through four complete.
The Trojans added another homer and a two-out, two-run single to secure a 6-0 advantage after six innings. Ohio Dominican scored its lone run of the contest in the top of the seventh, as Brennen Hunt (Ashland, Ohio) led off with a double and later crossed home plate on a fielder’s choice hit by Thomas Staab (Bellville, Ohio).
The Panthers had five different players record a hit in the loss, including three doubles. Trevecca registered nine hits, powered by four home runs.
GAME TWO
In the night cap, ODU was limited to just three hits over seven innings. Two hits went for extra bases for the Panthers, including a solo home run for David Silva (Tontogany, Ohio), his first of the season.
Trevecca added three more homers of its own in the second half of the doubleheader and a five-run first inning powered a 10-1 win.

The Panthers and Trojans will conclude their four-game weekend series in Nashville, Tenn. with a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. (CT) on Sunday, March 20.
