District showing success in, out of classroom
Grandview Heights Schools recently released its annual Quality Profile.
This publication showcases the unique attributes of a Grandview Heights Schools education and celebrates the achievements of our staff and students throughout the 2020-2021 school year. We’re proud to highlight data that shows our schools are among the top both locally and nationally, as measured by state and national benchmarks.
Our 2020-2021 Ohio State Report Card Performance Index score of 101.1 ranks the district No. 1 in Franklin County and in the top 4% in the state.
This score measures every student’s achievement on state tests.
In the Prepared for Success category, we scored 97.2%, placing the district in the top 1% in Ohio. This component looks at how well prepared our students are for future opportunities, whether training in a technical field or preparing for work or college.
In addition, Grandview Heights High School was named to the list of Top 20 High Schools in Ohio by U.S. News & World Report.
Scores are only one measure of success.

Students in grades K-12 are engaged in experiential learning that provides every student with authentic, real-world educational opportunities that can be applied beyond the classroom. Experiential learning develops critical thinking, creativity and collaboration skills.
Students learn self-regulation, advocacy, awareness and risk-taking skills. These are the skills students will need to be tomorrow’s leaders.
Our students are meeting with success on the stage and playing fields as well. Seventy-seven percent of our high school students participate in a sport, 62% participate in music and theater, and 50% participate in both. Our boys soccer team captured the district’s first state championship in the fall.
We received our sixth consecutive Auditor of State award demonstrating that we take our fiscal responsibilities seriously.
We also remained hyper-focused on our mission to maximize and personalize every student’s learning during the continued and challenging pandemic times. COVID-19 relief dollars helped us achieve this goal by giving us the resources to add technology, mental health support and other supplies and equipment.
Our Quality Profile celebrates the completion of first phase of our construction project. Our goal of “Honoring Tradition. Building Excellence” remains at the center of everything we do. The new Larson Middle School provides our students and staff with collaborative classrooms and spaces, modern science labs and cutting-edge gym, art and music rooms.
The second phase of construction, the high school renovation, is underway. The building is expected to open in December 2022.
A copy of the Quality Profile 2022 has been mailed to every Grandview Heights and Marble Cliff residence. Copies also are available at each school building, the Grandview Heights Public Library and online at ghschools.org.
