Breeze adds Jacksonville, Providence and Savannah to Columbus service

Breeze Airways announced three new flights on Tuesday.

Breeze Airways announced three new routes to and from Columbus Tuesday.

The low-fare airline will now offer twice weekly service from John Glenn Columbus International Airport to Jacksonville, Florida; Providence, Rhode Island; and Savannah, Georgia.

Breeze will begin flying to and from those destinations this summer, a news release said. Breeze did not give a date, but the airline’s website allows flights to be booked to Jacksonville and Providence starting May 27 and to Savannah starting June 4. Prices for a one-way flight to all three cities start at $49.

The additions bring to nine the number of cities served by Breeze out of Columbus. The airline now flies to and from Charleston, South Carolina; Hartford, Connecticut; Tampa and West Palm Beach, Florida; Norfolk, Virginia; and New Orleans.

The airline came to Columbus with the help of JobsOhio, a quasi private economic development organization, in July.

Breeze plans to more than double its fleet of planes by adding 13 new Airbus A220 aircraft to accommodate its extra flights, the news release said.
