Men’s Gymnastics Welcomes Ohio State to Rec Hall Saturday


UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State men’s gymnastics returns after a month off from competition when it hosts Ohio State at Rec Hall on Saturday at 2 p.m.

The Lions are 10-2 overall and 0-2 in the Big Ten this season, with a loss to Nebraska in their most recent meet on February 5. The Buckeyes are 9-2 overall and 1-1 in the Big Ten with a win over William & Mary in their most recent meet on February 19.

SERIES HISTORY
• Penn State and Ohio State will meet for the 35th time in a series that began in 1976.
• The Lions lead 21-13 in dual meets, including a 14-8 record at Rec Hall.
• Penn State put up some big individual scores despite a 405.500-403.900 to Ohio State last season. Matt Cormier won floor (14.6) and vault (14.55), while Nick Mock won pommel horse (14.8).

LAST TIME OUT
• Penn State dropped a Big Ten match at Nebraska 408.650-400.850.
Michael Jaroh won two events against the Huskers, taking first on rings (14.35) and high bar (13.85).
• The Lions took the top three spots on rings with Josh Karnes finishing second and Nate Warren third. Ethan Dick was the runner-up on parallel bars.

Michael Jaroh ranks second in the nation on rings with a 3-score average of 14.20.
• Jaroh’s 14.35 on rings at Nebraska is the fourth-best score in the event this season.
