Ohio schools dealing with changing COVID-19 guidelines
The Wyoming City School District is one example of the trend more schools could use to finish out the year in the ever-changing COVID-19 environment. The district is changing its plan from universal masking to optional masking. The change took effect for the high school this week and beginning next week for all K-eighth grade students. “As we thought about that change, some factors that led to the possibility of making the change, first of all, the rapid decrease in COVID-19 measures we were watching,” Superintendent Tim Weber said. In Hamilton County, the latest daily COVID-19 case count is 92, compared to 4,232 daily cases about one month ago.Weber said he has leaned heavily on others during the entire pandemic.“We have a science advisory team that has become so valuable and weekly conversations with other superintendents in Hamilton county,” Weber said.The change is for staff, students and visitors.
