Fathom Realty adds Northeast Ohio executive

The technology-focused real estate brokerage, publicly traded Fathom Realty (Nasdaq: FTHM), has appointed Brett Young, a Northeast Ohio real estate agent, as its district director for the Cleveland area.

Young, a real estate agent for 20 years, said in a phone interview that his goal will be to add at least 40 people to the ranks of Fathom agents in Northeast Ohio, currently numbering 15. He also will be responsible for supporting agents in the region. The company received its first license to operate in Ohio in Columbus in 2013 and add a license in the Dayton area in 2019, according to Ohio online real estate licensing data.

Young was previously an agent with EXP Realty.

The company’s central pitch to agents is a flat-fee structure. Fathom agents retain most of their commissions and pay the company a flat fee of $500 as well as $450 for each of their first 12 transactions and $99 thereafter.

Fathom Realty is part of Fathom Holdings Inc., based in Cary, North Carolina, which offers agents its own proprietary, cloud-based software. It also has in-house options to provide mortgage, title and insurance services.

The company has more than 7,000 agents across the United States, Young said.
