Samsung confirms February Galaxy Unpacked, teases S22 merger with the Note line
You will be able to reserve the Galaxy S22 series
What’s even better is that you will receive a $50 credit, which you can then use to order any other Galaxy products from Samsung’s website. And don’t worry, you won’t have to pay anything upfront while making the reservation.
Unfortunately, Samsung did not include the exact date and time of the Unpacked event in this press release. Previous rumors, however, tell us that it should be either on February 8 or February 9, so we have just a few weeks left.
Galaxy S22 expectations in a nutshell
Galaxy S22 price and storage
First and foremost, pricing. For the regular Galaxy S22, we expect a price between around $800, $1050 for the S22+ model, and $1300 for the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
Of course, price will vary depending on the storage configuration you choose, which could start at 128GB and then go to 256GB, 512GB, and even a 1TB (1000GB) option for the S22+ and S22 Ultra.
Galaxy S22 cameras
The cameras of the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ are said to come with a new 50MP main camera, while likely keeping the same 12MP ultra-wide and 10MP 3X telephoto cameras from the Galaxy S21.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra, on the other hand, is expected to keep the same 105MP camera. Although, leaks have shown us that Samsung is expecting to double down on the software to bring out the most out of its sensor, resulting in clearer images with more colors, less shaking in videos, and better focusing.
As for the rest on the Ultra’s back, two new10MP 3X and 10X telephoto cameras, as well as a 12MP ultra-wide are said to be included.
Galaxy S22 chip
Usually, each year Samsung releases two versions of its flagship series—one with a Snapdragon chip for the US market, and one equipped with its own Exynos SoC for the rest of the world.
Initially, there were rumors that 2022 might become the first year Samsung does not launch a Galaxy phone with an Exynos chip inside. More recent information, however, indicates that won’t be the case.
Galaxy S22 display and battery
Samsung is famous for its amazing displays and it doesn’t plan to disappoint this year either. The Galaxy S22 series is expected to come out with a 6.06-inch on the regular model, a 6.55-inch for the Galaxy S22+, and a 6.81-inch screen for the famed Note successor—the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
The leaks we’ve had so far say that powering the S22 and S22+ will be a 3,700mAh and 4,500mAh batteries respectively. As for the beast of a phone that the Ultra is, it will have a 5,000mAh one.
