Ohio snow storm: school closings Wednesday

CLEVELAND (WJW)– Some areas of Northeast Ohio continue to dig out after nearly two feet of snow fell in parts of the viewing area Sunday night into Monday morning.

Because of that, some schools are closing for another day Wednesday. That includes the Cleveland Metropolitan School District which said the decision was made due to road conditions. There will be no remote learning.

Tuesday afternoon, the City of Cleveland said 209 out of 292 residential subsections have been plowed. “Thank you for your patience, our crews are working as quickly as they can,” the City tweeted.

As snow cleanup continues, a front comes through on Wednesday that will give us a few isolated/scattered showers/flurries.

Once an area of low pressure and cold front moves through, a few lake effect flurries/snow showers develop on the back side. There is some light accumulation in the snow belt, mainly and some in the secondary snow belt.

The arctic air mass behind this front will send temperatures plummeting into the single digits and teens overnight and 20s for daytime highs for the rest of the week.

Here is the latest Fox 8 Day Forecast.
