Maxine June Mackey Pugh Doak

Maxine June Mackey Pugh Doak, 93, of Marietta, Ohio passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, April 30, 2021.

She was born June 14, 1927, at Cornerville, Ohio, daughter of the late Arthur DeWitt Mackey and Florence Madge Parks Mackey.

Married on February 13, 1963, to Keith W. Doak, together she and Keith established and operated Doak Farm and Greenhouse for many years until his death on February 6, 2000. June and Keith are remembered by many Reno area residents, who worked on the farm in their youth, as teachers of the value of hard work and strong work ethic.

In addition to her parents and husband, June was also preceded in death by her previous husband, Robert H. Pugh in 1961, brothers, Ray, Roy, and Arthur L. (Sonny) Mackey and grandson, Steven Smith.

She is survived by her sons, Shaan (Diana) Pugh and Shane Pugh, daughter, Jody Pugh Shipley Alden, grandchildren, Jennifer Eddy (Deane), Tanessa Pugh, Mackenzie Shipley, and Rosalie Alden, and her sister, Frances Parlin.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks and gratitude to the Amedisys Hospice staff and family friend, Cheryl McCain, for their support and assistance in June’s care before her passing.

Memorial donations may be made to Reno Fire Department. There will be no service at this time.
