6,000 without power as winds subside


A power line is down along the Old 3C Highway at Foster-Maineville Road in Hamilton Township in Warren County on Friday morning

About 6,000 Duke Energy customers are without power Friday morning, following high winds overnight.

The National Weather Service canceled wind advisories and warnings for the Greater Cincinnati area at about 5:20 a.m.

“With winds weakening rather quickly near the Tri-State area & portions of Northern Kentucky, the High Wind Warning and Wind Advisories have been cancelled in these areas,” The weather service tweeted.

Still, winds could gust as high as 41 mph on Friday.
