New Tekken project announced, battle update coming to Tekken 7 August 17th

Bandai Namco announced a new Tekken project is officially coming following the Tekken 7 finals at Evo 2022.

Moreover, Tekken 7 will be receiving a new battle update this month on August 17 as well.

The new teaser trailer begins with the iconic shot of Kazuya carrying Heihachi to the cliffside before cutting to what appears to be a brand new character model for the Mishima with the text “get ready.”

There was no confirmation given as to whether this apparent new game will indeed be Tekken 8 or something different this time around.

Given the use of the original Tekken’s footage, however, there is also the chance the upcoming project could be a remake, reboot or re-imagining of where it all began.

No further information has been officially confirmed at this time regarding Bandai Namco’s next big project.

As for Tekken 7, the developers revealed new balance adjustments are on the way for presumably the whole cast as well as “new tactics” which appears to include additional combos, moves and / or what looks to be a different type of wall bounce.

There was more news for the Tekken World Tour 2022 as well with the Global Finals revealed to be taking place in Amsterdam from February 4–5, 2023.
