Matt Lauer and Annette Roque reunite for their daughter’s high school graduation

Disgraced Today show host Matt Lauer and his ex-wife, model Annette Roque, reunited at their daughter’s high school graduation in the Hamptons this weekend.

The former couple proudly watched their 18-year-old daughter, Romy, receive her diploma Sunday during her commencement ceremony in East Hampton.

Photographers captured Lauer, 64, and Roque, 55, sharing a smile as they greeted each other at the event. It is unclear if they sat together during the ceremony.

Roque, donning an ivory lace dress, carried a bouquet of flowers, presumably for Romy, into the event. 

Proud dad Lauer was seen standing up in the crowd, apparently taking photos of Romy, as she crossed the stage. He later walked around the event with his phone in hand, sporting a grey suit coat and white baseball cap.

Lauer and Roque divorced in 2019 after 21 years of marriage. Their separation came after the once highest paid TV host in the country, earning $25million a year, was ousted from NBC in 2017 following allegations of sexual harassment in the work place.

The couple shares three children: daughter Romy and sons Jack, 21, and Thijs, 15.

Little is known about Romy’s post-graduation plans as Lauer and Roque have managed to keep their children relatively out of the public spotlight.

Romy, however, has seemingly followed in her mother’s footsteps and developed a passion for equestrianism.

Her public TikTok account features clips of her practicing tricks, caring for her horses and participating in riding competitions.

The teen, like many her age, also using the account to share viral ‘TikTok dances’ and document events in her life. She was more than 28,000 followers on the platform. 

Lauer and Roque appear to be supportive of Romy and have both been previously spotted cheering her on at horse shows.

The former TV personality and his longtime friend-turned-girlfriend Shamin Abas also took Romy out for a night on the town last October to celebrate her 18th birthday.

Lauer was fired from NBC in 2017 amid a slew of sexual harassment allegations, which have been detailed in exposes by journalist Ronan Farrow and former Today Show host Katie Couric. 

In Farrow’s 2019 novel Catch and Kill: Lies, Spies, and a Conspiracy to Protect Predators, former NBC producer Brooke Nevils accused Lauer of sexually assaulting her during non-consensual sex at the Sochi Olympics in 2014. 

Lauer responded to the accusation by saying: ‘There was absolutely nothing aggressive about that encounter. Brooke did not do or say anything to object.’ 

He was also accused of giving one woman a sex toy and an explicit note saying how he wanted to use it on her. He was also accused of showing another woman his penis in his office and played ‘f***, marry or kill’ in the office.

Other anonymous women are reported to have complained to NBC about Lauer’s sexual impropriety, with one saying she was summoned into his office in 2001 for sex. He would also sometimes quiz female producers about who they had slept with, it has been alleged.

There were also reports that Lauer’s office came supplied with a desk button to lock the door.
