Aaron Taylor-Johnson and his wife Sam renew their wedding vows to celebrate 10

Aaron Taylor-Johnson and his wife Sam celebrated their ten-year wedding anniversary on Tuesday with a vow renewal party.

English actor Aaron, 31, and his wife, 54, met on the set of the 2009 John Lennon biopic Nowhere Boy, which Sam directed, when she was 42 and he was 18.

The pair announced their engagement later that year and married in 2012 with a ceremony in Somerset, England.

Taking to their respective Instagram accounts, the couple gave fans a glimpse into their special day which was attended by dozens of pals.

Penning a moving tribute to his social media account, the Hollywood actor wrote:  ‘Yesterday was the most beautiful day, summer solstice, our 10th anniversary… we renewed our vows to one another and confessed our love in front of our nearest and dearest friends and family it was a celebration of love and joy! 

He added: ‘A decade of marriage. It was a magical unforgettable day and the sun did not stop shining on us both.. we are blessed beyond belief. Sammy you are my love, my life, my soulmate, my wife, my world!’

Meanwhile Sam, who is 23 years her partner’s senior, shared a photo of the pair standing on a table to share a kiss – and wrote: ’10 glorious years. My incredible husband, father to all 4 girls. I love you, I love you, I love you. Love conquers all.’

The photographer looked radiant in a maxi shirt dress gown, while she wore her blonde tresses in a low pony-tail.

Both Sam and Aaron also uploaded some throwback snaps from the past decade, sharing one touching black and white photo while Sam sips some coffee and Aaron places a loving arm around her.

In 2010 they welcomed their first daughter Wylda Rae, with Romy being born in 2012.

Aaron has previously discussed the moment he fell for Sam, and even touched upon their age gap.

He told Harper’s Bazaar in 2019: ‘I remember it very, very clearly. I know exactly what she was wearing. This white shirt that she still has, that I love.’

He added: ‘We were very professional through the entire film [Nowhere Boy]. No funny business at all.’

Of their 24-year age gap, the doting father told New York magazine: ‘The attention was intrusive. But having to deal with that early in my career probably got me to a place where I can more quickly just go, “Oh, f**k it”.’
