Kathryn Quesada Obituary (1935 – 2022) – Medina, OH

Kathryn J. Quesada, 86, of Medina, passed away June 12, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Cleveland on August 16, 1935 to the late Joseph F. and Mary E. (Marshall) Walter. She grew up in Brunswick, Ohio and attended Brunswick High School. As a cheerleader, she was crowned as the first homecoming queen for Brunswick High School in 1951. In 1966, Kathryn and her husband, Julian “Buddy” Quesada, opened the Brunswick Provision Meat Company which later became Bud’s Meat Market and Cellar Master at 1813 Pearl Road. They owned and operated this business for 29 years. When the family moved to Medina in 1969, Kathryn obtained her real estate license and worked for Jack Chester Realty and Bruce Block Realty through the 1970’s. In the 1980’s, she discovered her passion for interior decorating and design when she remodeled Bud’s Meat Market and Cellar Master, her century-home at 648 Wadsworth Road and The Main Street Cafe on Public Square. She continued to decorate the Main Street Cafe for holidays well into her 80’s.
Kathryn loved her “retirement” time living in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida where she worked for the City of Palm Beach Gardens and was an active member of St. Paul of the Cross. She loved being a lector and professed the word of God with passion and inspiration. For the past 15 years, she lived in her beloved hometown of Medina, Ohio and loved to collect antiques and decorate for every holiday. She especially enjoyed the time she spent with her bible study group and being a lector at St. Francis Xavier. But she was her happiest when surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Julian Gary Quesada (Susan North), Gwyn Quesada (Ricky Roll), Lisa (Quesada) Dickard (Dennis), Kimberly (Quesada) White (Henry Bluhm) and Kathy (Quesada) Scheiman (Joseph); grandchildren, Arroh, Mia, Heather, Reed, Kelly, Julian, Melissa, P.J., Matthew, Robert, Jennifer, Kevin, Mary-Kate, Jennie, and Julian; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Kenneth, Layla, Sophie, Alexandria, Theodore and Cleopatra.
Private interment has taken place at Mound Hill Cemetery, Seville.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Kathryn’s memory to St. Francis Xavier School Annual Fund, Medina, Ohio.
