Diving Back In Action Thursday At IUPUI

MUNCIE, Ind. – – The Ball State diving program will kick off the stretch run to the 2022 Mid-American Conference Championships Thursday, when it travels to the IUPUI Natatorium for a 2 p.m. dual with the Jaguars.

It will be the first meet for Cardinals’ divers since the IUPUI House of Champions which ran Nov. 18-20.

So far this season, a pair of Ball State divers have already achieved NCAA Zone Diving Qualifying marks. The first was junior Wyatt Blake who shined in his 2021-22 home debut, winning the 1M competition with a score of 320.10 versus Miami (Oct. 28).
 
Next was freshman Ashleigh Provan who locked up her spot with a 1M score of 276.00 in her Lewellen Aquatic Center debut versus Ohio (Oct. 30).

The men’s NCAA Zone Diving Standards are 300 on 1M and 320 on 3M, while the women’s marks to beat are 265 on 1M and 280 on 3M.
 
For his effort versus the RedHawks, Blake was named the Mid-American Conference Men’s Diver of the Week. In addition, senior Hunter Ongay has earned MAC Men’s Diver of the Week honors twice this season (Oct. 21 and Nov. 24).
